“I like my money right where I can see it: hanging in my closet.” — Carrie Bradshaw

It’s time to fall in love with fashion and fall, y’all!

There’s something majestic about watching russet leaves fall from tress on a crisp fall morning, while taking a stroll, or driving to work

The anticipation of sipping on hot cocoa by a fire, the scent of an invigorating candle lingering through my home, or curling up on the sofa wrapped in my favorite fuzzy blanket reading a book gives me fall vibes.

What’s even more exciting is pairing your new leather boots with a shawl collar wrap coat from Ann Taylor. When the seasons change, that means your wardrobe changes too.

I have a confession.

I’m a self-proclaimed shopaholic. As bad as that might sound, there’s a caveat to this. And that is, I’m a frugal shopaholic, and I only splurge on things that I want every once in a while. Surely, there’s nothing wrong with that, right? I do believe in treating myself in moderation. Hopefully, you can relate to this too.

Shopping is my thing. I enjoy it, and I will continue to embrace it with open arms. If you read my blog post, 3 Reasons Why Girl Time Is Needed, I mentioned every woman needs multiple go-to pieces in her closet at all times. You know, the ones that you just can’t live without. The pieces that you can accessorize (dress up or dress down) and get the most bang for your buck.

Here are some of my fall favs that are in my closet.

Scarves: Scarves just might be my favorite accessory, and they are a fall wardrobe essential. There’s something about a scarf that completes an outfit. Perhaps, it’s the soft material, vibrant and neutral colors, or maybe it’s the way it cascades down. Scarves are stylish and always guaranteed to fit (hallelujah)! It’s a statement piece and an added accessory that’s interchangeable. There are so many ways to wear a scarf, and some of my favorite ways are the toss, front tie, loop through, faux infinity, and the boyfriend tie. Whether I’m going for the sophisticated, preppy, casual or sporty look — a scarf is a great way of mixing bold prints and fall colors into my wardrobe.

Boots: There’s no doubt that boots are the holy grail of fall. It’s prime time for boot-buying season, which means shopping for cute new pairs is definitely on my to-do-list. It’s time to move the strappy sandals and the open toe wedges that I’ve been living in for the past several months to the back of the closet. With such a vast variety of flattering boots, (I don’t have one favorite pair) — several are my tried and true favorites. Namely, the pairs (brands) in my closet are Lucky Brand, Gianni Bini, Sperry, UGG, Antonio Melani, Jessica Simpson, Steve Madden, and Vince Camuto. These boots are versatile, and they complement my wardrobe with a simple and chic look.

Handbags: It was Kate Spade, the iconic fashion designer that said, “A handbag is only one item to be worn with a complete outfit. A peony pink leather handbag to a charcoal gray suit, for instance, and the impact is chic with a touch of wit.” And I couldn’t agree with her more. A handbag is the perfect accessory for any ensemble creating a chic and flattering look. I will admit, I love handbags too. A girl can never have too many handbags, right? Right. I like to keep at least one handbag in my closet for the fall months that I can pair with any outfit. My favorite is my Louis Vuitton Neverfull MM in the Damier Ebene canvas with Rose Ballerine interior. (This handbag was a splurge gift to myself that I’d anticipated getting for years.) It’s a legendary bag and the perfect size to accommodate all of my belongings. Though I still carried my handbag during the summer months, the darker colors are ideal for fall. You can’t go wrong with an LV Neverfull because it certainly lives up to its expectations.

It’s always fun to fall in love with fashion and fall every year as it brings lots of excitement and change. If you haven’t made a list of your fall favorites, what are you waiting for, the time is now. It’s time to get excited about how good you’re going to look this fall!

When are you planning your fall shopping trip?

Happy shopping!
